Is College Worth It? Claims are made that graduating from college will make life better, easier. However, the truth is just the opposite. How about these statistics?
45 percent of students “did not demonstrate any significant improvement in learning” during the course of their first two years of college. Even worse, close to 40 percent didn’t learn anything at all over their entire four years.
Correspondingly, those two percentages are supported by this: Many Students Never Really Studied, with 35 percent reporting less than 5 hours per week in study time.
The actual average being reported is studying just 2.67 hours per day. However, it is also being reported that twice that time is spent shopping, eating, and/or partying.
On par with these numbers, there is a consistent increase occurring in Adult illiteracy. Sadly, a high percentage of College Graduates test below average in Cognitive Tasks. (For example: simply calculating the costs of foods in a Grocery Store).
Failing again, some College Graduates in the United States of America test at or below High School kids in several other Countries.
Top Universities are, unfortunately, declining in the Rigors of their Academia.
